Trashi Yangtse Bhutan

TRASHI YANGTSE: It is about 2 and half hours drive away from Trashigang and has many sacred places and interesting things to see. It is also one of the locations in Bhutan where the black-necked cranes migrate in Winter.

Gom-Kora Lhakhang: The famous lhakhang is located on the way to Trashi Yangtse and was visited by Guru Padmasambhava, where he subdued evil spirits. You will find a small meditating cave of Guru on a large rock beside the temple. There is a whole lot of myth surrounding this place and is worth visiting, especially during the Gom-Kora Tsechu which takes place around March-April every year and people from all over the country and Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, India come to see.

Chorten Kora: This chorten is similar to Chendebji chorten. Every year, ths place hosts 2 religious festivals and people from Arunachal Pradesh in India also come for the festival. The chorten is surrounded by many small prayer wheels and is lovated on the banks of the river below Trashi Yangtse town.

Bomdelling Valley: This valley is part of the Bomdelling Wildlife Sanctuary and is about 30minutes drive from Trashi Yangtse town. This is another place in Bhutan where the Black-Necked cranes migrate to in winter.

National Institute of Zorig Chusum: This institute was opened in 1997 to provide opportunities in vocational training. Just like its counterpart in Thimphu, this institute also trains students in the 13 traditional arts and crafts. The institute is located just above the hospital.

What our customers have to say

You have wonderful guides. They are well educated, highly informed problem solver, historian and good communication skills. They showed us presentation from normal programme with different topics. They let us discuss interests – photography and arrange programme accordingly. They always showed positive energy and passion to us. They never argued, instead suggested. We are very happy. My husband was very happy with them as he describe him as professional guide. Thank you so much.
