SARPANG: One of the Southernmost districts with a road access to India was mostly inhabited by Nepali-speaking Lhotshampas but a lot of people from other parts are choosing to settle here owing to the pleasant climate and accessibility. An International airport that has been built there has only increased the inflow of people.
Gelephu airport: It is located right along the border of Bhutan and India and is currently functioning as a domestic airport but there are plans to be convert it into an International airport. The runway at 4kms is twice as longer than the one at Paro International Airport.
Bhutan gate: It is one of the gateways to India and is an important point for transporting goods between Bhutan and India. The Indian town Dadh Ghari on the other side of the border is small but popular place for Bhutanese to shop for vegetables and small homemade and indigenous products.
Gelephu Hot Springs: It is about 20kms from Gelephu town and is small. Not the hottest or the best hot springs in the country but the locals believe it helps in curing skin and bone diseases.
New industrial area at Jigmeling: A new industrial area is being created between Sarpang and Gelephu to minimise the pressure at Passakha Industrial are near Phuentsholing.
Farms: Many of the people here are also into various farming like poultry, diary, piggery, fishery and crops.
